The City of Meriden will be fogging within the city limits as necessary to control what has been an active mosquito population. The first fogging is scheduled to take place the week of September 26th. The exact day is unknown at this time as the City wants to fog at a time when the weather conditions are the most conducive to fogging and the least intrusive to citizens. To that end the City intends to fog either late in the evening or during the early morning hours. The city will be using Kontrol, a quick knockdown, low odor, non-corrosive synergized synthetic Pyrethroid for the Control of adult mosquitoes in residential, recreational, and other areas. Kontrol is also effective in treating biting and non-biting midge and black flies. The City will be updating it’s website before the fogging occurs so please check the city website at www.meridenks.com if you would like more information on the exact day/time of the fogging.
